Papua New Guinea Youth Employment, Literacy and Livelihoods Curriculum

Description: In coordination with the Government of Papua New Guinea and the International Development Association, the project provided urban youth between the ages of 16 and 35 with education and training to prepare them for employment and to increase their overall employability skills. Ichuli’s consultants were hired to oversee the design and development of the youth and instructor training curriculum, which focused on daily training sessions for participants in the areas of adult literacy and numeracy, financial literacy, and skills for livelihoods and entry-level employment.

Specific tasks included: the creation of a detailed curriculum development plan and scope and sequence for the modules, including learning objectives and source materials for each session; the development of a curriculum template for all sessions; oversight, guidance and mentoring to a team of curriculum writers in four countries, including quality assurance, editing and revision of all materials; development of an assessment framework and tools for diagnostic and summative testing of learners; and the creation of a monitoring and evaluation framework and tools for the project team to guide process analysis and results reporting during implementation.
