Resilient Efficient Agribusiness Chains Crop Training Materials Package
Description: IFDC is implementing the ‘Resilient Efficient Agribusiness Chains’ (REACH-UGANDA) project, an innovative four-year agribusiness initiative. The project’s goals are to improve market engagement for 40,000 market-oriented farmers, strengthen household resilience and deepen availability of agriculture support services for farmers and businesses. The project is targeting multiple value chains, including rice, potatoes, cabbage, onions, soy beans, groundnuts and climbing beans.
The objective of the assignment was to create training-ready materials for the cabbage, onion, soy bean, groundnut and climbing bean value chains, including simplification of existing training manuals produced by IFDC, development of illustrations, images and information graphics to visually represent content, and layout of the revised materials and illustrations in a variety of formats. Training manuals, vinyl flip chart sets, key messages posters, spray protocol posters and brochures with key messages and concepts were produced.
The resource package is rooted in participatory and experiential learning methodologies and based on the principles of iterative learning, best practices in agriculture value chain development, peer-learning and skill development. At its core, the package addresses the knowledge and skills needed for value chain development and agribusiness programming, but is flexible enough to allow for different trainers to adapt the package to their needs.
