Client: Africa Educational Trust (AET)
Description: AET implemented the BRITE (Business, Resilience, Innovation, Technology and Enterprise) Futures Project between 2014 and 2016 in 8 secondary schools in northern Uganda. The project covered quality education improvements for science, technology, and math (STEM) programming at the school and community levels. AET’s programming focuses on three main areas: increased access and inclusion, particularly for disadvantaged girls; knowledge and application of business and transferrable life skills; and improved learning in and access to science and technology education.
Ichuli conducted an endline evaluation of the project in 2017 to investigate the positive change it made in the lives of secondary school students, teachers and other community members. This evaluation revealed several modifications needed to improve their interventions. Ichuli engaged with AET to develop a clear theory of change and MEL strategy in order to create a strong M&E focus and appropriate goals for the next phase of the program. Between January 2018 and December 2019, AET will implement the newest iteration of their project. Ichuli is helping AET execute their MEL strategy by designing all M&E tools, conducting baseline, midline and endline evaluations, supporting continuous monitoring by the AET team, and helping AET learn from and share their final results.
